Get Involved: Volunteer Fair at Downtown Pavilion — September 27

Here at The Parks at Wilson Creek, we know that building a strong community starts with getting involved, and the upcoming Celina Volunteer Fair is the perfect opportunity to do just that. Whether you’re new to town or a longtime local, this event is a great way to discover local organizations, meet new people, and find meaningful ways to give back.

Event Snapshot

On Saturday, September 27, from 9:00 AM to noon, head over to the Downtown Pavilion at 142 N. Ohio Street. The Volunteer Fair is hosted by Keep Celina Beautiful and is completely free and open to the public. It’s a relaxed, come-and-go event, so feel free to swing by whenever it works for you, even if you only have a few minutes to spare.

What to Expect

At the fair, you’ll be able to explore a wide variety of volunteer opportunities from both local nonprofits and city departments. Representatives will be on hand to share how their programs work, what kind of help they need, and how you can get involved. You can sign up for opportunities right then and there, or simply gather information to think about for later. It’s all low-pressure and totally at your pace.

Why You Should Attend

If you’ve ever felt the urge to help out but weren’t sure where to start, this is the ideal first step. You’ll be able to explore causes that align with your interests, whether that’s environmental cleanup, family support, animal welfare, civic engagement, or event planning. It’s also a great way for newcomers to connect with their neighbors and get a feel for the heart of Celina. Even if you only commit to one event or a few hours a month, it’s a powerful way to make a difference in someone’s life, and your own.

How to Make the Most of It

Want to make your visit extra productive? Try jotting down a few questions in advance. Ask about the most-needed volunteer roles, whether families or kids can participate, or what kind of time commitment is expected. Wear comfortable shoes, bring a water bottle, and consider arriving early to beat the crowds and have more time to chat with booth representatives.

Share the Spirit

Volunteering doesn’t just help others, it inspires others too. If you attend the fair, share a few photos or stories on social media and tag your neighbors. Use the hashtag #ParksVolunteerFair to spread the word and encourage others in our community to get involved. You never know who might be inspired to join you!

We’ll See You There!

So mark your calendar for September 27 and bring a friend, neighbor, or family member along for the ride. Whether you’re ready to commit to a cause or just want to explore your options, the Volunteer Fair is a fun, welcoming space to start your journey.
