Historic Downtown McKinney
Downtown McKinney has so many things to do and see. Art camps, day camps, pottery and watercolor classes, boot camps, open-mic comedy, a butterfly house and garden, special presentations from artists and writers, and Hatha yoga classes are just a few reasons this unique square stands out.
You can take downtown tours, including a food walk and black history walking tour, or visit cultural sites like the Collin County History Museum, Fire History Museum, McKinney Art Studio and Art House, Chestnut Square Historic Village, and the McKinney Performing Arts Center. Parking is free, and you can ride the McKinney DASH or Arts in Bloom shuttles to get around hassle-free. Go for special events on Father’s Day June 18, a Juneteenth celebration on June 17, and a two-day July Fourth celebration on July 3 and July 4!

Take a trip to Globe Life Field in Arlington for a unique experience cheering on the Texas Rangers! Not only can you watch a baseball game, you can also take a ballpark, premium, or pre-game tour with a Hall of Famer, have a birthday party, or have your own batting cage experience. Everything you need is in one place—food, drinks, baseball, and fun. Go for a special Family Field Day from 10 am to 2 pm on July 29, or try one of the other special events. Experience the Most Innovative Center in the World at Grandscape in The Colony! One visit may not be enough to check this one off your list (SCHEELS probably needs a day for itself!). Peruse the 433-acre retail and entertainment development to visit the Nebraska Furniture Mart, 26 restaurants, and a brewery. Have lunch at the Thirsty Lion Gastropub, named one of the top 10 Open Table restaurants in the DFW area, and complete the day by enjoying a drink at the Red Phone Booth Speakeasy.
