In Celina, TX, education isn’t just a curriculum — it is a vibrant community commitment. Celina Independent School District is home to the bobcats and has provided more than 120 years of educational services to the city. Students of The Parks at Wilson Creek will attend this renowned district, so we want to ensure you know everything about it.
Celina ISD Basics
Celina ISD is known for its strong commitment to quality education from elementary to high school. Our city is growing in population, and CISD is adapting quickly. The district comprises an early childhood Pre-K, three elementary schools (with more on the way!), a middle school, and a high school.
The free full-day eligibility-based Pre-K helps develop oral language, initial skills for readers, and early math concepts to prepare them for Kindergarten. As they progress, students gain the tools to compete in high-demand, high-wage, and highly skilled occupations and post-secondary education. CISD graduates are recruited to attend top institutions across the US and earn industry-specific certifications, giving them many advantages and opportunities to pursue their goals and dreams.
Academics and Athletics
Students have countless options to shape their future when it comes to academics. In addition to core education, CISD gives your Gifted and Talented and AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) students the courses they need to succeed. AVID helps 7th to 12th graders understand the benefits of attending college, vocational, or trade schools. They learn marketable skills to use in their future careers and help them adapt to our ever-changing global society. Your student can also choose fine arts programs like art, band, choir, dance, debate, music, and more from elementary through high school.
Athletics are also essential to school life, and the Bobcat Nation pride runs strong in the community. Your children can be part of a winning tradition in football, baseball, softball, golf, tennis, basketball, soccer, track and field, swimming, and powerlifting. Since sports are in the state’s UIL program, they can earn scholarships and awards to help with college admissions. In November, the high school girls’ cross-country team placed 10th in Texas at the state meet!
The Future Looks Bright
Celina ISD is planning for a bright future, with a 4th elementary currently under construction, and plans to build a 5th one here IN The Parks at Wilson Creek! The school is set to open in the Fall of 2025 and should be breaking ground soon. The district is also building a new multipurpose athletic complex and has planned renovations and additions for the existing high school athletic complex.
Best in the Nation
CISD has earned many awards and accolades — the latest was a national honor from US News & World Report, which named Celina High School one of the best of 18,000 high schools nationwide! Your children will receive an excellent education while exploring their passions and expanding their talents here in Celina.
